I have been selling furniture as Abacus here on Abbotsbury Road since 1988, in partnership, as a sole trader, as a limited company, and now as Son of Abacus.
These days I am the whole shebang, and split my time between shop and workshop.

The rescue of old furniture and creation of new from old materials has always been my favourite aspect of this work.
There is something (ok, loads) deflating about unpacking boxes of hardwood furniture that has been shipped from the other side of the planet.
